I have been working a lot lately with couples and one of the issues I keep seeing come up is communication. Couples are struggling to find the right words and proper timing to express how they are feeling. The truth is, there never really is a perfect time to discuss challenging topics or emotions and there never is one right way to say it. The thing that delights me is when couples are wanting to learn healthier ways to voice their experiences so that their partner can get to know them better. We can always learn new ways to really listen to what our partner is saying and strengthen our own ability to express ourselves openly and honestly.
