Happy Tuesday! This blog is coming out really early (which sadly means it will be 2.5 weeks until we meet again in your inbox) but I wanted to let you all know about a wonderful treatment opportunity that has become available to those who are 18 years or older and live in the lower mainland.
Project True is a non-profit organization that started because it wanted provide support and resources to those who suffer with an eating disorder. As a community, they always have different initiatives going on that help promote recovery and shatter the stigma attached to having an eating disorder. Angela Rinaldis is a colleague of mine and is doing incredible things in the field. As a recovered anorexic Angela understands what it is like to suffer with an eating disorder and also what the journey to recovery looks like. She also knows how costly it can be to have the needed supports in place to recover.
And that’s where this blog comes in. Angela and her amazing community at Project True have raised money to help those with eating disorders get their recovery journey started with Dr. Laird Birmingham and his associates at their clinic here in Vancouver. Project True is providing 3 scholarships each worth $2000 to 3 different applicants.
This really is an incredible opportunity and one I would encourage you all to apply for. The deadline is this Friday, January 23rd and you can find more information here.
If by chance you aren’t able to apply, I would encourage you to keep Project True in mind through your recovery journey as I believe their goal is to keep opportunities like this one coming.
Good Luck!
