Self Care Leaving You Confused? Here are some ideas!

I talk a lot about self-care in my practice and in my day-to-day life and what I have noticed is that people who struggle with eating disorders and disordered eating tend to have the hardest time with it. Most people look at me with a perplexed expression and ask for examples because even the concept of it is foreign. The main reason I stress self-care so much is because it taps into the healthy part of you that wants to be kind and nurturing towards yourself. The more we do this, the stronger that side becomes and therefore the more comfortable we become with ourselves and with our own worth.

A client of mine kindly forwarded on this website article with self-care ideas and I felt it could be of value to you all. Remember that self-care can truly be anything. I have heard of everything from reading your favorite childhood novels to jewelry making to reorganizing the house and everything in between. Remember that the most important part is just doing it, whatever it is, and making it an important part of your everyday routine.
